<Interview>
Hi! We are team 2, Byung og You, Ha hun Lee, Kang won Lee,and See ho Park. We named our team as 2NE1 because we were all twenty one years old. When we got to the Yeosu Exposition, there were a lot of people walking around. In Yeosu EXPO, there are lots of amazing things to see such as Aquarium, Korea House and street performance. Our group wanted to visit Aquarium first, but, since it was too crowded, we went to International Convention first. I am sure there is no team that visited more diverse countries pavilion than we did. It seems that we travelled all over the world. Our mission was to interview a foreign tourist. But. we were focusing on taking pictures with them. We took pictures with a man from Denmark, Oman and so on. Since our members are all young boys, we were eager to take a photo with a pretty woman. At the end of our tour in the International Convention, finally, we found a beautiful woman from German pavilion and asked her if she can take picture with us. She was embarrassed and hesitated for a while, then she said yes. We wanted to have more conversation with her, but, she was serving as a tourist guide. So, we couldn’t. At first, it was hard to ask to take picture with us to foreigners, but we did anyway. We are quite sure that this experience will help us interact with foreigners more. After taking pictures at the International Convention, we also visited Aquarium and Big-O Show. Yeosu EXPO will continue until August 12 this year. I suggest you come by here before it ends.
<외국인 인터뷰>
안녕하세요! 저는 2팀입니다. 저희 팀은 유병옥, 이하훈, 이강원, 박시호로 구성되어 있습니다. 저희는 저희 팀 이름을 가수 이름을 따서 2NE1이라 지었는데, 이건 저희가 모두 21살이기 때문입니다. 저희가 여수 엑스포에 도착했을 때는 이미 많은 사람들이 있었습니다. 여수 엑스포 안에는 여러 볼 것들이 많이 있습니다. 수족관, 한국관, 국제관, 기업관 등 여러 흥미로운 것들이 있습니다. 그 중에 저희는 수족관에 먼저 가고 싶었지만 사람이 많았던 까닭에 국제관에 먼저 가게 되었습니다. 아마 저희 팀보다 많은 나라를 돌아다닌 팀은 없을까하고 생각이 듭니다. 저희는 거의 세계 여행을 하듯이 많은 나라를 돌아다녔습니다. 국제관을 구경하면서 저희가 한가지 하고자 생각했던 것은 외국인과 한번 대화를 해보고 인터뷰를 해보는 것이었습니다. 그러나 깊은 대화를 하지는 못했지만 사진을 찍으며 짧은 대화는 할 수 있었습니다. 저희는 덴마크 사람, 오만 사람 등 여러 나라 사람들과 사진을 찍었습니다. 저희 팀은 모두 젊은 남자로 이루어져있었기 때문에 예쁜 여자와 사진을 찍고 싶었습니다. 국제관 투어가 거의 끝나갈 무렵, 저희는 겨우 예쁜 독일 분과 사진을 찍을 수 있었습니다. 사진 같이 찍어주실 수 있냐고 물어봤을 때 약간 당황해 하셨지만, 그래도 흥쾌히 찍어주시겠다고 하셔서 기분 좋게 사진을 찍을 수 있었습니다. 저희는 더 대화를 하고 싶었지만, 독일 여성분이 독일관의 가이드를 하고 계셔서, 긴 대화는 할 수 없었습니다. 외국인들과 사진을 찍으려고 돌아다닐 때, 처음에는 외국인에게 말을 거는 것 조차 힘들었습니다. 그러나 용기를 내서 해보니, 다들 흥쾌히 응해 주셔서 그 다음부터는 수월하게 외국인에게 말을 걸 수 있었습니다. 비록 작은 경험이지만, 이 경험을 통하여 저희가 장래에 외국인들과 대화를 하고 더욱 많은 상호작용을 하는 데 도움이 될 것이라고 생각합니다. 국제관 관람을 마친 후에 저희 팀은 수족관을 방문하고 빅오쇼도 관람하였습니다. 여수 엑스포는 8월 12일까지 계속되는데 한번 와서 보시기를 추천합니다.
<Spanish pavilion>
On our way to Yeosu Exposition, our team decided to visit and take a close look at Spanish pavilion, because all of us were interested in Spain in various ways. Some of us were interested in Spanish soccer, Primera Liga, and some of us were learning Spanish language in person. However, beside from soccer, we really didn’t know much about the culture or other aspects of Spain, so we wanted to know what Spain has to say to the protection and conservation of clean ocean. When we got to the International Convention, after visiting several pavilions, we went straight to Spanish pavilion to accomplish our mission. In the Spanish pavilion, there were maps, telescopes that Christopher Columbus used on his voyage to find a new path to India, which actually turned out to be America. Additionally, there were bottles of water, gathered from all various parts of the world, shining in the bright light.
At first, it was not easy to understand what those exhibition meant, and how it is related to the topic of the whole exposition, which is living ocean and coast. Therefore, we just reasoned as follow:
In the past, Spanish people went to the parts of the world that nobody even dared to try at that time. That’s why they discovered America and that’s why there are so many famous pioneers from Spain. This is the reason that Spanish pavilion displayed tools used by early pioneers. Still, Spaniards are eager and willing to go parts of the world that nobody tried before, like deep down of the ocean and to various countries. This is the reason that I think they displayed bottles of water from various parts of the world. After all, Spanish pavilion wants to convey the message that they are still ready to explore the undiscovered parts of the world.
From today’s visit, we learned the general characteristic of Spain that we did not know before, and we thought that since God, the creator of the world, is with us, we will be the one who has greater influence on the world than Spanish people do.
<스페인 전시관>
?여수를 가는 길 버스안에서, 저희 팀은 여러 나라 중 스페인 전시관에 들려서 자세히 봐야겠다고 결정했습니다. 그 이유는 저희 모두가 스페인에 관심이 있었기 때문입니다. 몇 명은 스페인 축구 (프리메라 리가)에 관심이 있었고, 몇 명은 스페인어를 직접 배우고 있어서 더욱 가고 싶었습니다. 그런데 저희들은 스페인 축구 정도에만 관심이 있었지 스페인이라는 나라에 대해서 아는 것이 별로 없었습니다. 과연 스페인은 “숨쉬는 해양과 해안”이라는 여수 엑스포 주제와 관련해서 무엇을 보여줄 것인지 궁금했습니다. 저희 팀이 국제관에 도착한 후, 저희는 몇 나라를 들린 후에 미션을 완수하기 위해 곧장 스페인관으로 갔습니다. 스페인 관에는 콜럼버스가 인도를 찾기위해 항해할 때 사용했던 지도와 만원경들이 전시되어 있었습니다. 또한, 여러 나라로 부터 가져온 물들이 병안에 담겨서 빛나고 있었습니다.
처음에는 이러한 전시품들이 어떤 의미인지 알기 어려웠습니다. 또, 이러한 전시품이 여수 엑스포 전체 주제인 “숨쉬는 해양과 해안”과 어떻게 관련이 있는지도 알기 어려워서 저희 나름 의미를 추측해보았습니다.
과거에 스페인 사람들은 그 누구도 감히 시도해보지 못했던 항해를 하며 새로운 땅을 개척하였습니다. 그래서 스페인에 많은 유명한 항해자들이 있었고 그들 중 한명은 아메리카 대륙을 발견할 수 있었습니다. 이러한 의미를 담기 위해서 항해자들이 사용했던 지도와 만원경들을 전시해 두었습니다. 그리고 여전히, 스페인 사람들은 아무도 가보지 못했던 곳에 가보기를 원하는 것 같습니다. 바다 깊은 곳, 세계 여러 나라에 아직 사람의 발이 가보지 못한 곳에 가기위해 준비되어 있는 것 같았습니다. 이러한 의미를 담기 위해서 여러 나라의 물을 전시해놓은 것 같습니다. 따라서 스페인 관은 전시품들을 통하여 과거에 그러했듯이 지금도 스페인은 세계를 탐험할 준비가 되어있다는 메세지를 전해주고 싶어하는 것 같았습니다.
이번 스페인 관 방문을 통하여서 저희는 전에 알지 못했던 스페인의 여러 특징에 대해서 알게 되었습니다. 또한, 이 세상을 만드신 하나님이 저희와 항상 함께 하시기 때문에, 저희도 스페인 사람들보다 더욱 큰 영향을 이 세상에 미치며 살게 될 것이라고 생각했습니다.
